Panasonic launches two new leading A3 document scanners

Faster and higher quality images for improved productivity with lower maintenance and total cost of ownership.

Wiesbaden, DE. 23 April 2020 – Panasonic has launched two new leading A3 document scanners offering faster and higher quality images for improved productivity with lower maintenance and total cost of ownership. The Panasonic KV-S5078-Y, which is network enabled, and KV-S5058 document scanners are ideal for organisations scanning from 1,000-60,000 pages a day. This includes Government Agencies, such as tax offices at fiscal year-end, Service Bureaux, and the education sector for exams and school registrations.

The scanners have a shorter start-up and faster scanning time than their predecessors - saving 15% with their 115ppm and 230ipm (KV-S5078Y only). Tough Feed technology reduces the jamming and double-feed rate resulting in reduced scanning errors and duplication of effort. The new long-life rollers increase the recommended replacement cycles from 350k to 700k sheets – reducing roller costs by half. A newly developed paper-dust-resistant design reduces errors and cleaning cycles.

Superior image quality, as a result of the high performance image sensor (3-line CIS), provides accurate extraction of information for back-end systems. Panasonic has incorporated its original technology in image processing and fine-tuning to improve the character extraction and background whitening. The higher quality scanned images result in higher OCR accuracy and better barcode recognition.

The network functionality (KV-S5078Y only) simplifies information sharing and device management tasks with gigabit ethernet connectivity. Both scanners also offer USB 3.1 Gen (backward compatible) connectivity. The Site Central Management Suite (SCMS) provides easy configuration and device management over the network or web.

These two latest Panasonic document scanners reduce work time for users, saving the business time and money across a variety of work scenarios and industries,” said Britta Wessels, European Sales Manager at Panasonic Communication Solutions. “The improved scanning quality and performance, combined with lower maintenance costs and improved network functionality deliver market-leading products in this category.”

The Panasonic KV-S5078-Y and KV-S5058 document scanners will be available from mid-May.
